* How old must you be to enroll in A+ Driving Academy's Driver Education Program?
Students must be 15 years of age in order to enroll in driver education.

* How do I view the months ahead for classroom sessions?
Go to your driving location (under the Our Locations tab) (Brownsburg, Fishers, Lebanon or Zionsville) and click the arrow on the calendar to go to the next month.

* Can anyone enroll in the program?
Yes.

* How long is the program?
We offer 3 hours per day over a two week period, Monday thru Friday.

* How much instruction time does each student receive?
Our program meets all state requirements; 30 hours of classroom and 6 one-hour sessions of behind-the-wheel instruction - PRIVATE instruction.

* How do I submit my child's registration?
It is our goal to make the registration process as convenient as possible. You may visit the school to register your child; you may register by phone, we will be more than happy to mail a registration form to your home, or we can communicate via email. We gladly accept check, cash, Mastercard or Visa. We also offer online registration and payment!

* Is there is deadline for submitting registrations?
No - providing the space is available, we will accept registration up to the time class begins. However, we strongly recommend pre-registration, thereby assuring your child has a spot in the preferred class.

* How do I get my child to and from driver education class?
Transportation is the sole responsibility of the parents.

* Can my child be paired with a friend?
Yes, providing we have the space available in that particular class.

* When does my child need to get his/her learner permit?
Registration for a session opens 3 weeks prior. After the registration fee has been paid in full, we will issue an information packet which includes the CDE form (pink slip). We prefer your child have their driver education learner permit prior to the first day of class; however, if this is not possible, please remember no drives will be scheduled until the learner permit has been obtained.

* What documents are needed in order to obtain the learner permit?
The BMV requires the ORIGINAL birth certificate, the ORIGINAL social security card, and two proofs of residency. You may visit the BMV website @ ,www.in.gov/bmv for a complete list of acceptable documents.

* My child is going to miss 1-2 days of class, will he/she need to make up time missed?
Of course, we strongly recommend no class time be missed; however, we understand occasionally it cannot be helped. On the first day of class your child will need to inform the classroom instructor of which days he/she will miss. It is imperative that your child make up the exact day(s) that are missed in the next available session.

* What does the "Waiver" mean?
A+ Driving Academy is a State certified school in the waiver program. Our students who receive an 80 percent or better in classroom and driving are eligible to waiver the road test with the BMV. However, they must pass the road test administered by a State certified Driver Education instructor.

* After completing the program, when is my child eligible to get his/her Probationary License?
Under current law, at 16 years and 180 days, AND after he/she has held the learner permit for 180 days, your child may be eligible to get his/her Probationary License through the BMV. Please note, the course of instruction, including classroom and drives, must be completed as well. Teens are also required to complete 50 hours of supervised practice driving with a licensed instructor or a licensed driver (mom, dad or step-parent) at least 25 years of age or a spouse that is at least 21 years old (10 hours shall be nighttime driving). This applies to ALL new drivers.

* My son/daughter has lost or washed his/her permit, what do I do?
You may go to the license branch and get a "Duplicate Learner Permit." You will need to take your child's birth certificate and other pieces of identification and pay the current fee.

* Is there a charge for a missed drive time?
Yes, there is a missed drive fee (effective January 1, 2007), without a 24-hour notice. This rule is strictly adhered to, therefore, we thank you in advance for your understanding. Fee is listed on the location schedule page.

* General information
Teens obtaining their driver license after July 1, 2010, are required to present a driving log to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles upon licensing. This log must reflect 50 hours of behind the wheel time with mom and dad, with 10 of those hours being night time driving hours. The parent taking the child will also be required to sign an affidavit swearing under perjury of law that the hours have been completed.
The driving log may be downloaded here.
